The "macrowave" was designed as part of a group project at CMU in the fall of 2016. Our brief for this project was to create a product that would be used by millennials in the kitchen. We started by brainstorming social, economic, and technological factors that would influence millennials’ culinary purchasing decisions. Product Opportunity Gaps came into focus through this exercise. We next chose the POG that struck us as most novel: the macrowave. In short, the macrowave is a non-microwave-based device for quickly (and possibly remotely) cooking pre-made meals. The market has since validated our group's hunch, as a host of fast and home-cooked food prep devices have recently entered the market.
