Here I take the Roman villa of antiquity, and append a few modern conveniences, such as glass windows and indoor plumbing. The overall program, pattern of circulation, and material palette are largely faithful to their Roman antecedents. Indeed, from the reception to the statuary, an ancient nobleman would find little at odds with the arrangement of his own estate.
One major departure from precedent is construction method. Rather than rely on barbaric labor practices, the Villa is optimized for construction via concrete 3D-printing.
